BluOS 3.6 Brings New Streaming Services, a New MQA Listening Option and Enablement of Google Assistant

BluOS 3.6 app on an iPhone

Software update scheduled for October 2019 will give users access to even more music.

TORONTO, CANADA, OCTOBER 8, 2019 – BluOS™, the premium multi-room music management platform by Lenbrook International, has announced a number of enhancements that will come with the release of version 3.6. On or around October 15, 2019, users will be prompted to update their BluOS players, at which time, users will gain access to two new streaming services, Google Assistant, and support for MQA-CD in the NAD Masters M50.2 and the BLUESOUND VAULT.

NEW STREAMING SERVICES
Idagio and Radio.com join the 20 other eclectic streaming services already available to BluOS users, expanding the variety and sources of audio content that can be enjoyed on BluOS Enabled products.

GOOGLE ASSISTANT
BluOS users who prefer Android can now have voice control over their players using Google Assistant. Using Google’s proprietary skill-based system called “Actions on Google”, BluOS users can use commands like “Hey Google, talk to Blue Voice to play preset 3 in the kitchen,” or “Hey Google, talk to Blue Voice to set the default player to the bedroom.” Track selection, volume, repeat and other commands are also possible. The full list of playback commands using Google Assistant can be found on the BluOS support website.

MQA-CD PLAYBACK AND RIPPING
Owners of BLUESOUND’s VAULT and NAD Masters M50.2 BluOS Enabled players will be able to rip and store MQA-CDs. In many countries around the world, the CD is still a popular medium for music listening. The unique way in which MQA-CDs are encoded allows them to deliver richer, more natural sound. With the forthcoming BluOS software update, not only will Bluesound Vault and NAD Masters M50.2 owners be able to decode and play back MQA content from an MQA-CD, but also rip and store that content to their players, with all the benefits of MQA content intact.
